2025 SADSAA Tuna International & Nationals – Opening Night in Hout Bay! 
The highly anticipated 2025 SADSAA Tuna International and Nationals officially kicked off with a fantastic opening function on Sunday evening, 20 April2025, hosted at the beautiful Atlantic Boat Club in the picturesque harbour town of Hout Bay. 
The evening was filled with excitement and camaraderie as anglers from across the country and abroad gathered to mark the start of what promises to be an unforgettable tournament. With the spirit of sportsmanship and adventure in the air, teams were welcomed in true South African style with warm hospitality, great food, and vibrant energy.
This year, we’re proud to have 5 international teams competing in the Tuna International and 8 provincial teams going head-to-head in the Tuna Nationals.
The competition is fierce, the stakes are high, and the fishing grounds off Cape Town are ready to deliver some thrilling action.
However, Mother Nature had other plans. Unfortunately, due to strong winds and rough sea conditions, both Day 1 and Day 2 of the tournament had to be called off for the safety of all competitors. While it’s a disappointing start, we remain hopeful that the weather will clear up soon so our teams can hit the water and do what they love most—chasing big tuna on the open sea!
